🐾Mascot: "Eskomos"

The Eskomos mascot, used by Esko Public Schools in Minnesota, is a unique and intriguing one. The name "Eskomos" is a play on the word "Eskimos," which refers to the Inuit people living in Arctic regions. This mascot was chosen to reflect toughness and resilience, much like the harsh yet beautiful Arctic environment. However, due to a new Minnesota law aimed at respecting Native American identities, the school has decided to retire the Eskomos nickname and its associated igloo logo as of June 30, 2023[4। Despite the upcoming change, the spirit behind the Eskomos has always been about embodying strong character traits like hard work and intelligence, qualities that are highly valued in student athletes. So, while the name might be changing, the essence of what it represents will live on in the hearts of the school community🏆. It's a great example of how schools can adapt and grow while still honoring their roots.
